The Annual Las Vegas Solar Festival blends art, technology, and outreach to promote renewable energy, inspire conservation, and support sustainable communities. The festival will showcase the power and possibilities of Solar Energy. The purpose of the Solar Festival is to produce Southern Nevada's premier renewable energy and arts festival. This one-day, family friendly festival combines world-class entertainment with incredible educational opportunities in renewable energy, sustainability and community engagement. The Solar Festival will be held annually on the Summer Solstice. The Inaugural Las Vegas Solar Festival will be on Thursday, June 21, 2012at the City of Henderson Events Plaza from 4:00 PM - 9:30 PM. The event is free to the public and all ages are welcome.

Solar Art Trail
The Solar Festival will help fund a community art piece that is solar-powered. Whether it is a kinetic sculpture that moves when the sun energized it or a work that collects energy during the day for a light-sculpture to be enjoyed at night, the community will have a lasting solar treasure to remind us about the accessibility and importance of solar power in Southern Nevada. A new piece of artwork will be commissioned annually in conjunction with the festival.
