John Karr
Supervisor (2022 - 2026)
​John is a native Nevadan and grew up in the Las Vegas suburbs. He is an Environmental Scientist and Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP), Bureau of Corrective Actions.
He holds a B.Sc. in Earth and Environmental Sciences with a focus on Contaminant Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His career focuses on surficial and groundwater contamination, contaminant modeling and mitigation, remediation management and oversight, and protection of sources according to analytical interpolation.​ In addition to contaminant hydrogeology and its clean up, John is a desert tortoise advocate, member of the Desert Tortoise Council and a volunteer with the Mojave Max and Desert Conservation Programs. These programs represent communities, private, state, and federal entities that strive to preserve the Desert Tortoise species and their habitats.
In his free time, John enjoys the family life, playing clarinet for the community, mountain biking, and learning about his Polish culture.
